Abstract
The quality of the nation's human resource character is an important aspect to determine the progress of a nation. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the implementation, evaluation, obstacles and solutions of Islamic religious education as an effort to build independent moral character in Pancasila Salatiga Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study found that the implementation of Islamic religious education as an effort to build character in Pancasila Salatiga Islamic Boarding School is found in the classical learning process, habituation of discipline and responsibility, economic independence. The evaluation is carried out in stages, discipline, and controlled continuously, the obstacles are caused by internal and external factors. The solution is to provide extra assistance to students, and given punishment and reward. This research will provide a scientific contribution regarding the pattern of independent character education in students, as well as a source of reference for educational actors, especially in Islamic boarding schools.
