Penanaman Karakter Disiplin dan Tanggung Jawab Siswa Melalui Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMK Negeri 2 Metro

Abstract

This research aims to explore efforts to instill the character of discipline and responsibility in students through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMK Negeri 2 Metro. The character of discipline and responsibility is very important in education because it contributes to the formation of students' personality and morality. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Principal, Vice Principal of Student Affairs, Guidance Counselor, and Islamic Education Teacher. The research results show that the implementation of PAI learning at SMK Negeri 2 Metro is carried out by integrating the values of discipline and responsibility into the teaching materials as well as through practical activities, such as worship activities, daily tasks, and group work. The PAI teacher acts as a guide, providing examples, and monitoring students' discipline and responsibility in completing school assignments and practicing worship. Some of the challenges faced are time constraints and the lack of student awareness regarding the importance of discipline and responsibility. However, a consistent approach and support from the school and parents also help improve the understanding and application of these positive characters. The conclusion of this study is that the Islamic Religious Education learning at SMK Negeri 2 Metro, integrated into the morning character habituation program, has proven to play an important role in instilling discipline and responsibility in students.
