Pengaruh Motivasi Orang Tua Terhadap Minat Peserta Didik dalam Melanjutkan Pendidikan di Kota Makassar
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine how much influence parental motivation has on children to continue their education to a higher level, especially in the city of Makassar. The study was conducted because of the phenomenon that occurs when children graduate from high school do not continue their education to a higher level and even choose to work to make money quickly on the grounds of helping their parents' economy and not having the funds to continue their education. After conducting research on a population consisting of parents and students in the city of Makassar by taking a sample of 302 respondents each. Data were collected using a questionnaire via google form, analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using multiple linear regression formulas, data requirements were tested for normality, linearity, and multicollinearity. Inferential statistics through statistical parameters, classical assumption tests/prerequisites. The results of the study showed that parental motivation has a very large role in students' interest in continuing their education at university.
