Abstract

Education in Islam places a teacher as a figure who has the most noble and honorable degree. Allah SWT directly guarantees the status of a teacher with the guarantee of elevating his rank both in this world and in the hereafter because the teacher's job is to carry a noble task. This article discusses teacher personality competencies according to Az-Zarnuji in the book Ta'lim Muta'allim and KH Hasyim in the book Adabul 'Alim Wa Muta'allim. This study is motivated by the important role of the teacher's personality as an educator, in which a teacher currently behaves a lot that does not reflect being a teacher. This is important, because educators are figures who become role models for students in particular and society in general. The purpose of this study was to determine the personality competencies of teachers in the book Ta'lim Muta'allim by Az-Zarnuji and in the book Adabul 'Alim Wa Muta'allim by KH Hasyim Asyari and the relevance of the thoughts of the two scholars to Law Number 14 of 2005. Because, in The book contains morals and personality that must be owned by a teacher. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's personality competencies according to Az-Zarnuji include: 'Alim, wara', older, authoritative, polite, patient, sincere, humble, earnest, compassionate and giving advice. While the teacher's personality competence according to KH. Hasyim Asy'ari includes: presenting a personality that reflects piety, authority, enthusiasm, noble character, helpful, wara', sincere, fair, patient, friendly, understanding students, diligent, exemplary, evaluator and honest. The equation is that they must display a personality that reflects piety, humble, authoritative, wara', patient and sincere. Differences in teacher personality competencies offered by Az-Zarnuji and KH. Hasyim Ay'ari includes: Az-zarnuji includes: 'Pious and mature, gentle, earnest. KH. Hasyim Asy'ari includes: fair, noble, passionate, friendly. According to Az-Zarnuji and KH. Hasyim Ay'ari regarding the personality competence of a teacher has a very significant relevance to the world of education in this modern era, especially with Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teacher Competence. However, there are several teacher personality competency points according to Az-Zarnuji and KH. Hasyim Ay'ari which is not contained in Law Number 14 of 2005.
