Abstract

Higher Islamic education, as a cornerstone of societal continuity and development, increasingly recognizes the importance of integrating information technology in the management and support of academic activities. This research investigates the implementation of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) as a solution to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of educational management at the Syarif Muhammad Raha Islamic Higher Education (STAI). The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach, involving document analysis, interviews, and direct observation of the EMIS implementation in the institution. Findings indicate that the EMIS at STAI Syarif Muhammad Raha has positively contributed to student data management, registration processes, and academic monitoring. The implementation of EMIS has also enhanced transparency in information and facilitated more efficient data accessibility.An evaluation of the impact of EMIS on academic activities reveals increased efficiency in learning and assessment processes. Although challenges such as the adaptation of the academic community to technology and infrastructure maintenance are concerns, the results of this research suggest that EMIS can bring about positive changes in educational management at STAI Syarif Muhammad Raha.This study contributes to practical understanding of the benefits and challenges of EMIS implementation in Islamic higher education institutions. These findings can assist similar institutions in planning and managing the implementation of information technology more effectively, creating a more dynamic academic environment that is responsive to the demands of the times.
