Efektivitas Penggunaan Chromebook Sebagai Motivasi Belajar Siswa di SMP-IT Pesantren Darul Istiqamah Kabupaten Maros
Abstract
This study examines the effectiveness of using Chromebooks as a learning motivation for students at SMP-IT Pesantren Darul Istiqamah, Maros Regency. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach during the period June-October 2024, using data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research results show that the implementation of Chromebooks, which began in 2020, has been carried out systematically and integrated with the Islamic boarding school education system. This program successfully combines modern technology with Islamic values through various flagship programs such as Digital Morning, the digital tahfidz program, and the Digital Islamic Library. The use of Chromebooks has been shown to have a positive impact on students' learning motivation, as reflected in three main aspects: 1) Increased learning independence, where students demonstrate greater initiative in exploring digital learning resources; 2) Changes in learning behavior to become more active and collaborative; and 3) Developing creativity in producing digital projects that combine general knowledge with Islamic values. Despite facing various challenges such as infrastructure and technology adaptation, the school managed to develop effective strategies through individual mentoring programs and a continuous evaluation system. This research makes an important contribution to the understanding of technology integration in the context of integrated Islamic education, as well as providing an implementation model that can be adapted by other Islamic educational institutions.
