Abstract

The achievement of the optimal Islamic school’s work performance is influenced by the headmaster’s managerial skill. Based on the early research findings in Islamic Elementary School in Way Kanan Regency, headmasters had managerial skill but Islamic school’s work performance was not optimal. Therefore it is needed to do further research. Statement of the problem is whether headmaster’s managerial skill influence Madrasah’s work performance? The aim of this study is to find the influence of headmaster’s managerial skill to Islamic elementary school work performance in Way Kanan Regency. This study is a kind of survey research using quantitative method. Populations in this study are 448 Islamic elementary school’s teachers in Way Kanan Regency then the samples are 195 teachers. Data was collected by questionnaire and analyzed by path analysis, continued by describing qualitatively to gain clearer description.  The research findings showed that there is influence of headmaster’s managerial skill to Islamic school’s work performance as much 60.7%. It is categorized medium. Based on those result, the conclusion of this study is to increase Islamic school’s work performance, it is needed to increase headmaster’s managerial skill. Better headmaster’s managerial skill, will create better Islamic school’s work performance. In increasing Islamic school’s work performance, headmaster’s managerial skill should be more optimal because headmasterwho had better skill in managerial that will also increase Islamic school’s work performance and Islamic school’s quality.
