Dukkha sebagai Jalan Menuju Kebahagiaan Abadi: Studi Teologi Lintas Agama-Agama tentang Keselamatan
Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the teachings of suffering in Buddhism and Christianity and also to find out the similarities and differences in the teachings of suffering in the teachings of each of the two religions. The writing method used in this research is literature research. Research on dukkha will be carried out using qualitative methods, namely the data obtained comes from various books and documents of Buddhist teachings related to suffering. Suffering is a fact of life that humans must experience. Suffering is caused by humans themselves (their senses). Therefore, to escape suffering, humans must practice the truth about the main 8-fold path leading to the end of dukkha. Based on the data analysis carried out, it is clear that dukkha is an absolute reality and will definitely be experienced by every creature, including humans. This is stated in his first sermon, life is suffering. nothing is permanent in this world. However, the search for one's perfection in this imperfect dimension gives life its true meaning and purpose. These opposites can be understood when one understands the contradictory nature of this world and the opportunity to be free from these conditions by adhering to the path of gradual inner purification.
