Peran Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Membentuk Ketahanan Diri Siswa di SMP Daarul Ma’arif Natar
Abstract
Free association, often referred to as unrestricted social interaction, has penetrated almost every aspect of life, including the school environment. Adolescents, who should be the future leaders of the nation, are increasingly trapped in behaviors that erode their moral integrity. This highlights the crucial role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a strong foundation for developing students’ resilience. Islamic Religious Education is not merely about understanding rituals of worship; it goes beyond that by instilling firm life principles, strong moral values, and unwavering self-control. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with students, Islamic Education teachers, and the principal, as well as document analysis. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education significantly contributes to shaping students’ personal resilience. Daily habituation programs such as performing Dhuha prayer, reciting Ratib al-Haddad, and reading the Qur’an have shown to enhance students’ moral and spiritual development.
