Integrasi Kurikulum PAI dan Ilmu Pengetahuan: Membangun Paradigma Tauhidik dalam Pendidikan Abad ke-21

Abstract

The dichotomy between religious and secular knowledge inherited from the colonial education system has led to fragmentation in learning, separating faith-based values from scientific processes. In Islam, however, all knowledge originates from Allah SWT and should be directed toward strengthening faith and shaping noble character. This article examines various models of curriculum integration such as integrative-thematic, integrative-conceptual, and integrative-applicative approaches that holistically unite students’ cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects. It also explores implementation strategies including the development of value-based curricula, inter-teacher collaboration, strengthening teachers' pedagogical and theological competencies, and developing contextual teaching modules and media. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method based on literature review with pedagogical and theological approaches, analyzing relevant academic references to construct both conceptual and practical arguments for the importance of knowledge integration in modern Islamic education. The findings indicate that integrative learning not only enhances scientific understanding but also fosters spiritual awareness and a sense of responsibility among students as stewards (khalifah) on Earth. Value-based and contextual evaluation is crucial to measure success not only in mastering content but also in internalizing Islamic values in daily life.This article concludes that integrating the PAI and science curricula is a crucial foundation for shaping a generation of Muslims who are not only academically excellent but also spiritually strong and morally upright, thus well-prepared to face global challenges without losing their Islamic identity.
